【Publisher】:生物医学工程与仪器科学学院【Time】:2021-12-16 【Frequency】:79

On the morning of October 9, 2021, the 147th Youth Academic Salon and Postgraduate Research Ability Enhancement Series of CBEIS was held both online and offline as scheduled. Professor  Xun,Chen from the University of Science and Technology of China(USTC) brought an academic  report to students.

Prof. Chen is the Head of the Department of Electronic Engineering and Information Science, University of Science and Technology of China (USTC), who won the National Science Fund for Outstanding Youth in 2019. Prof. Chen graduated from the University of British Columbia with a Ph.D.degree in medical artificial intelligence and human-computer interaction. Up to date, He has published over 100 scientific articles in prestigious IEEE/Elsevier journals and conferences, including 5 ESI Highly Cited Papers and 1 IEEE TIM Andy Chi Best Paper. At the same time, Prof. Chen also served as the editorial board of several core journals.

EEG has been widely used in clinical diagnosis, human-computer interaction, cognitive science research etc. However, because of its small amplitude, EEG is likely to be interfered by various noises, including electroencephalogram(EOG), electrocardiogram(ECG), electromyography(EMG), etc. Prof. Chen’s report analyzed the current status of EEG denoising research, focusing on the removal of EMG noise. Combined with personal research experience, Pro.Chen also described several explorations he has made and pointed out the possible future research direction.

Prof. Chen’s report was fascinating and our students benefited a lot. In the end, Prof. Chen had a warm discussion with the teachers and students, and the lecture ended successfully in warm applause.
