The first Lv Weixue Academic Forum of President of the College of Biomedical Engineering and Instrument Science (CBEIS) was held in May 19th. Prof. Yang Wei, academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and former president of Zhejiang University, delivered the first lecture of the Forum. Prof. Chen Chun, academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and director of the Department of Information of Zhejiang University, served as the special host of the forum.
CBEIS’s First Lv Weixue Academic Forum of President
Prof. Yang Wei, gave the first special report entitled Full of Vitality, Full of Grace. Combined with his working experience in the Ministry of Education, Zhejiang university, and National Science Foundation, Prof. Yang made in-depth analysis and interpretation of the construction and the evaluation standard of creating first-class universities and disciplines of the world. Prof. Yang pointed out that history was written by students, alumni and historians. As a pioneer of biomedical engineering in China, Mr. Lv's academic spirit of rigorous scholarship and cross-innovation should be remembered and carried forward.

Prof. Zhang pointed that to better promote the development of world first-class BME disciplines, CBEIS introducedLv Weixue Academic Forum of President. CBEIS will carry forward Mr. Lv Weixue’s spirit and hope to promote an efficient and multi-disciplinary exchange and cooperation platform for the school to promote the integration of multi-disciplines.

The Forum was held by Prof. Chen Chun, who spoke highly of the forum. In the forum discussion section, young teachers from CBEIS had a heated discussion with Prof. Yang about postgraduate students training, medical and industrial integration, and the development of science and technology innovation.
