On September 27th, Mr. Wang Bin and Mr. Zhu Yuelong from the class of 78 and Mr. Zhang Wannian from the class of 86 came back to the College of Biomedical Engineering and Instrument Science(CBEIS). Dean Prof. Zhang Hong, Associate Dean, Prof. Zhou Hong, and Prof. Liu Qingjun, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee Ms. Yang Yang attended the meeting.
In the meeting, Prof. Zhang Hong made a comprehensive and systematic introduction to the alumni on the current development status as well as the opportunities and challenges faced by CBEIS.
As one the first graduates of CBEIS, Mr. Wang Bin fondly recall the past from the Department of Science and technology to the present CBEIS. He said proudly that Shenzhen leads the national medical device industry, and alumni of ZJU are the main force. He hoped that CBEIS and alumni will work together, to have a better and higher development.
Mr. Zhu Yuelong pointed out from a farseeing perspective that the spring of biomedical engineering(BME) has come. He also put forward the idea of developing cutting-edge medical equipment jointly among universities, governments and enterprises. Next, Mr. Zhu also expressed his high hopes for the juniors.
Mr. Zhang Wannian said that the development of BME discipline needs support from industry. He believed that the lack of core technology will cause the BME industry to get stuck. He hoped that CBEIS could cultivate more talents, promote the development of industry and make more contributions to the society.
Prof. Zhang Hong sincerely thanked all the alumni for their advice and was deeply touched by the feelings of the alumni. He hoped that CBEIS could give full play to the power of alumni, and build the most characteristic high-end medical instrument industry platform in China.
