The opening ceremony of Lv Weixue Experimental Class, CBEIS was held on June 13, 2020. The class is named after one of the founders of biomedical engineering in China, Lv Weixue. It aims to encourage students to continue and inherit the spirit of seeking truth, exploration, diligence, and innovation, as well as to cultivate a group of students with strong practical skills and broad interdisciplinary vision.
Dean Professor Zhang Hong attended the ceremony. He pointed out that the establishment of the Lv Weixue Experimental Class is a milestone in the college's talent training process. He put forward high expectations for the students. He expects the first phase of class to have the spirit and consciousness of an elite and form an excellent thinking, to be a modest and prudent style, and to have a grateful heart in both study and research.
Afterwards, Vice President Zhou Hong, School Party Secretary Wang Chunbo, and some other professors and supervisors also gave talks about their encouragements, expectations and wishes for the newly enrolled students, hoping them to seize the opportunity and make progress.
At the end of the ceremony, some of the students shared their concern and thoughts to which the teachers all answered in detail. Finally, Dean Zhang expressed his expectations for the students to follow their big dreams and to excel in life.
