Zhejiang Provincial Key Laboratory for Network Multimedia Technology was established in 2011. The members of the laboratory include 1 Qiushi distinguished professor, 2 guest professors, 4 associate professors, 1 lecturer, more than 20 Ph. D candidates and more than 40 master’s degree students. Focusing on academic frontiers and aiming to meet the urgent national needs, the laboratory has devoted to the studies of the basic theories and key technologies in network multimedia technologies.
Under the support of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, “863” Program, Special Fund for Research on National Major Research Instruments, national defense projects and international cooperation projects, machine vision, real-time sonar array signal acquisition and processing, 3-D acoustic real-time imaging. The lab has published more than 150 journal articles and conference papers, has been authorized more than 90 Chinese invention patents and 4 American invention patents. The lab has established long-term and stable cooperative relationship with China Electronics Technology Group Corporation (CETC) and China Shipbuilding Industry Corporation (CSIC), and a series of military products have been developed and installed on several key national defense projects. At the same time, the lab cooperates with the first class enterprises such as Huawei, Honghua, Huawei-3com, Olympus Japan, Fuji Electric Japan, and many key industry technologies has been developed. The lab has established many joint laboratories with world famous semiconductor companies, including “Zhejiang University – Texas Instrument Multimedia Engineering Center”,and so on. The achievements of the lab have won 2nd Prize of National Technology Invention Award in 2017, 2nd Prize of National Science and Technology Progress Award in 2010, 1st Prize of Zhejiang Provincial Technology Invention Award in 2015, 1st Prize of Zhejiang Provincial Science and Technology Award in 2012 and 2008.
