On May 21, 2018, the special assistant to the director of the Institute of Deep-Sea Science and Engineering of the Chinese Academy of Sciences/ director of the Deep-Sea Engineering and Technology Department, Yang Ning, deputy director of the Ocean Equipment and Operation Management Center, Bao Gengsheng, visited the BEIS. Ms. Wang Chunbo, secretary of the Party committee of CBEIS, Prof. Liu Qingjun, deputy dean of CBEIS, Professor Chen Yaowu, Director of the Academic Committee, and Prof. Chen Hang, Director of the Department of Biomedical Engineering, welcomed the guests. The CBEIS and the Institute of Deep-Sea Science and Engineering of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, have established the "Institute of Deep-Sea Science and Engineering of the Chinese Academy of Sciences-College of Biomedical Engineering and Instrument Science of Zhejiang University at the Joint Institute of Deep-Sea Exploration on January 31, 2018. This visit has been made on the progress of scientific research in the joint laboratory and the deepening of the deep sea to have further cooperation in this field. Director Yang Ning and his colleague successively researched the Institute of Biomedical Engineering and Institute of Digital Technology of BEIS and listened to reports on deep-sea sonar and video technology, medical information technology, bio-sensing technology, brain-computer interface technology, and deep-sea positioning and navigation technology, etc. They also visited relevant laboratories. The two sides exchanged heated discussions.
