The Key Laboratory for Biomedical Engineering of the Ministry of Education is one of the earliest laboratories established by the Ministry of Education in 2000 and has become the cradle of domestic training for biomedical engineering talents. After more than 10 years of development and construction, the comprehensive level of personnel training, scientific research, social services, and international cooperation ranks among the top in China. The laboratory is based on the forefront of biomedical engineering science, centering on the major needs of “population and health” in the national medium and long-term science and technology development plan. Combining the advantages of Zhejiang University in life sciences, medicine, electronic information, and computers, and applying modern engineering technology method, our laboratory is devoted to the basic research of key issues in the biomedical field and the application of key technologies. We focus on biomedical information and medical imaging, biomedical sensing and micro-analysis systems, quantitative systems, physiological methods and neuro-engineering, and electronic information technology and medical equipment to carry out innovative research, build world-class basic research and application of biomedical engineering Scientific research, teaching and talent cultivation base.
