As a fraternal partner of our college, the Biomedical Sciences Faculty of National University of Singapore has been maintaining close and stable cooperation with our college. In order to build a platform for the communication of undergraduate students from the two colleges and create opportunities for international exchanges, mutual visits have come into being in friendly consultation with each other.
This year is the second year of the exchange programme. On May 22nd, we welcomed 9 students from National University of Singapore who were the first to visit our college. On the afternoon of the 23rd, in the meeting room of Shengyi Building, Professor Xia Shunren, Director of Department of Biomedical Engineering, Prof. Chen Hang, Deputy Director of Biomedical Engineering, Prof. Wang Ping, Deputy Director of key laboratory of Biomedical Engineering, some members of the Student Reception Group, and Grade 2008 student representatives jointly organized a simple and grand welcome for the visiting Singaporean guests.
The exchange programme lasted for 14 days. Singaporean students visited the Yuquan Campus of Zhejiang University and the Zijingang Campus with the guidance of teachers and students of the College. They alse visited the School History Museum to learn more about the history of Zhejiang University and its new era. Besides, they visited many kinds of laboratory such as Biomedical Transducer National Special Lab, Key Laboratory for Biomedical Engineering of Ministry of Education, Zhejiang Provincial Key Laboratory of Cardio-Cerebral Vascular Detection Technology and Medicinal Effectiveness Appraisal, Biomedical Engineering and Technology Assessment Center of Zhejiang University and other research institutions and laboratories, as long as a number of practice bases ,both inside and outside the school ,which were founded by our college, including: Xihu Biological Materials Co., Ltd., the First Affiliated Hospital of Zhejiang University, the Second Affiliated Hospital of Zhejiang University, Zhejiang Kang’enbei Pharmaceuticals Co., Ltd. and Zhejiang Blood Center. Visiting students from Singapore also attend many courses and participate in student association activities.
